Life at the Sanctuary

Our mission is expressed through our Formation Cycle. This offers a starting point for those who are new to our church or still unsure about their relationship with God.

The Formation Cycle

Begin

  •

Alpha

Alpha is a bi-annual course that takes place at a home, restaurant, or event space here in Indianapolis. The Alpha course creates a space for honest and open dialogue between people who are exploring the Christian faith. Everyone is welcome and no questions are off-limits.

Sunday Gathering

Together, we experience the power of the Spirit, being formed into the image of Christ. All are welcome.

Join us on Sundays at 10am at The Indianapolis Art Center for prayer, worship, and teaching.

Sanctuary START

If you are new to our church, we would love for you to join us for Sanctuary START. Sanctuary START will be a time, once a month, for you to get to know our church better. No matter where you are in your journey with Christ, START will offer space for fellowship and Q&R with our staff.

Sanctuary Pillars

Practice the Way of Jesus

As a church community, we apprentice under Jesus. To apprentice means to, “learn under” or “model after” a teacher. For us, that Teacher is Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus modeled for us whole-life devotion to God the Father and to neighbor as Himself (Matthew 26v36-40).

We practice the way of Jesus by engaging in rhythms of prayer, Scripture, and formation. Our church’s current practice flows and changes throughout each year in line with our teaching calendar.

Participate in Community

Jesus models for us the art of merciful presence. Gathering around the table, welcoming the stranger, and being present to one another as companions in everyday life are the values we hold in our homes. We live this out in our community through Sanctuary CIRCLES. Sanctuary CIRCLES are communities that meet together weekly all over the city. These neighborhood-based groups gather around the table to share in fellowship, prayer, and Scripture together.

When the decision is made to firmly “be” a part of our community, we welcome new believers into the family of God through the practice of immersive baptism.

Permeate the World

Jesus always led with invitation (“Come, follow me.”) and then exhortation (“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations…”).

As a church, we seek to model this to the community around us. We seek out the lowly, the disenfranchised, and the marginalized with the invitation to “come and see.” We do this generously and with zero expectation of reciprocation.

Why?

Well, “We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4v19). Sanctuary SERVE is our best attempt to sacrificially love our community and spread the Gospel to the lost.
